To help you sleep

If you struggle to sleep
Sleep is one of the most essential activity we do to ensure we are in top of our mental health!!

Proper sleep is essential for our survival. When we sleep we...offload the worries, upset or trauma of the day, restore and reenergise our body, stores energy to help us function the next day and makes us feel lighter, refreshed, enables us to make good decisions and to help us cope with the challenges we may face on a daily basis.
Sleep tips to follow to help ensure a good night sleep.
  1. Set a bedtime routine  (times and rituals) then stick to it, make it realistic so it’s easy for you or your child to follow.
  2. Come off any stimulating games at least 1 1/2 before bedtime. The light from these activity’s make our brain think it’s still daylight.
  3. Also the games played could transfer into our sleep inducing nightmares!
  4. Play card... games, Lego, play dough, read a book to help aid relaxation and put you in a calm place before bed.
  5. Take a bath or have a shower(if it doesn’t wake you up!) before bed.
  6. If your hungry, eat a banana, slice of turkey, warm milk, a slice of brown bread toast and other foods that are a great source of natural chemicals like melatonin that help us to sleep.
  7. Use relaxing music or if you’re a parent read a story to your child at bedtime.
