Covid Catch Up Premium
The COVID catch up premium is a one-off payment for the academic year 2020 - 2021, aimed at supporting schools to make up for teaching time lost as result of the extended period of school closure from March 2020. Special schools are allocated £240 per place. The places are calculated based on place numbers from the 2019 - 2020 Local Authority financial year budget returns. The funding will be paid in three instalments: Autumn 2020, Spring 2021, Summer 2021. Our school will be allocated a total of £11520.
Schools should use this funding for specific activities to support pupils to catch up for lost teaching, in line with the curriculum expectations for the next academic year. Schools can use this funding in a way that suits their specific cohort and circumstances, however they are expected to use it for specific activities which will help pupils catch up on missed education.
The school is accountable for demonstrating appropriate use of this funding, with scrutiny from governors to ratify the decisions of the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership team.
This plan has been formulated with reference to the EEF COVID-19 Support Document and their 2021 - 2022 planning tool.
