Academisation

Academisation

The governing body of NeneGate School has applied to become an academy under the Academies Act 2010 and its suggested plan is to join Meridian Trust (Meridian). The Academy Converter Order is due to go before the Headteacher Board on the 23 June 2022. The governing body is now consulting on whether the school’s conversion to academy status should take place. Further information about what becoming an academy means is set out in the attached ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ and how to comment on the proposals is set out below.

How can I find out more?

A meeting will be held in school on Thursday 26th May at 5.30pm. There will also be a   virtual meeting via Microsoft Teams on Thursday 9th June at 5.00pm. We would encourage you to take part if you have any questions, or simply want to learn more.  Here you will be able to meet a representative from Meridian and me, and ask any questions that you may have.
There is also more information about academies on the DfE website:  http://www.education.gov.uk/academies
If you can’t find the answer to your question here, or on the DfE website, and cannot attend the meeting above to ask in person, please email the Head Teacher, who will try to assist.
