English
Welcome to the NeneGate's English department.
NeneGate School prides itself on its creativity. English is fundamental in developing skills in all subject areas, however, literature encompasses social, cultural and historical elements of life – past, present and future. We believe in developing enquiring minds, whilst nurturing empathy and tolerance with others. Students are encouraged to be creative and analytical in order for them to enter the adult world empowered by language. Students are encouraged to present their work to their peers across the curriculum.
We study class reading books and, whenever possible, bring these to life through trips to the theatre or film. We have been to London to see the Woman in Black and have a trip leaving next year to visit the French Battlefields.
